TALK: Training and Competence – what did we learn?

Last Friday, we hosted our TALK: Training and Competence (T&C) event and we were delighted with the engagement and contribution from the delegates, with the ever-popular breakout rooms providing a forum for vibrant discussion and the sharing of inspirational best practice.

We kicked things off by looking at the must have’s and the nice to have’s when it comes to a T&C scheme, and it was very clear that those firms with a real vested interest in developing their people take time to understand their training needs and share their vision for the future, as opposed to ticking boxes and reviewing irrelevant data. This discussion set up the breakout sessions perfectly and it was brilliant to hear the different approaches being taken by firms to both enhance their client proposition, and support career progression within their businesses.

Following feedback from the last event, we finished off with a Q&A session where Christian Markwick provided insight and opinion on bringing PDPs to life, KPIs in a modern world, supporting our Business Owners and Senior Managers of the future and what good looks like when assessing Fitness and Propriety. Like Christian, as someone who works with a number of our clients running their T&C schemes, it is very clear that we never adopt a ‘one size fits all’ approach and I was delighted with the positive feedback that was submitted both in terms of the content and the structure of the event.

Join us on the 16th of July for TALK: Go With the (Cash)flow
