A mix of expertise from across the financial services profession, all with a desire to see things done a little differently.
Realising that compliance is far more negative than it needs to be, I came up with the idea to revolutionise the entire industry and create a friendly, helpful service for advisers!

A part of my job that really fascinates me is being able to get audiences to engage in a product and service. Given the typically negative relationship between advisers and their compliance providers, I feel like it’s a personal challenge to help change perceptions of this industry and really get people engaged with us and what we are doing.

Just before RDR hit Helen decided to return to University where she completed within a year a Business with Financial Services degree, and specialised her dissertation in regulatory issues and the effect on the IFA. Due to the huge changes brought with RDR, this spurred her on to help firms work with compliance more positively. She believes that it is possible to integrate regulatory requirements into a firms operations and corporate strategy to help companies run more efficiently and well into the future.
In 2011, Helen joined ‘the dark side’ became a compliance professional. She has worked for a large network and numerous prestigious IFA firms as their Compliance Manager before finally setting up her own consultancy in 2015, advising firms on how to most effectively embed the regulatory requirements in a way that compliments their business model.
From my past experience I have seen how this area can impact on the role of an Adviser, I was attracted to see how Apricity are taking a fresh look at making the whole process simpler and much more user friendly. I hope to bring my skills and experience to the team and use my view as an Adviser to simplify and support the parts of compliance that frustrates most Advisers.

What really stood out to me about Apricity was the idea of a fresh approach to compliance as it can be seen as quite a negative sector. However I think Apricity is trying to make it fun whilst keeping a professional approach.
